Frits is founder of Alphera Consulting GmbH.

Frits is a serial CMO with 30 years of experience in clinical development and medical affairs. Most recently he was Chief Medical Officer at Inositec, which was acquired by CSL Vifor in 2021.

Prior to joining Inositec he had roles of increasing responsibility at INC, Astellas, Novartis, Roche and Vifor Pharma, including Chief Medical Officer at Vifor Pharma and Head Medical Affairs Europe at Novartis. He designed, executed and oversaw early and late stage clinical development plans, translational medicine-, dose finding-, confirmatory- and label extension studies, as well as regulatory interactions with FDA and EU health authorities leading to several marketing authorisations. He has extensive experience in venture capital, financial analyst, Board  and partnering discussions.

As a physician, Frits worked in anesthesiology and intensive care. He earned his medical degree at Leiden University, the Netherlands.
